Well, do you? Kind of hard question isn’t it? I guess we could all do to come up with an answer to it though. This morning’s recording starts off with the music. I was going to split the file so that there would be two, one of us singing and the other of Pastor John preaching. Some how or other it didn’t happen. I hope you are not put off because the message is cogent, pertinent, relateable, ummmm… yes, all those things, and anointed too.

We were blessed with another visiting ministry this morning. Elizabeth, a first nation person, all the way from sunny California. What a great word she had for us and just at the right time too!

We have quite a mixed bag for you today. There is a strong teaching on tithing, there is music and testimony and then there is the message. Pastor John takes one of Elisha’s prophecies begining at 2 Kings 6:24 and then 2 Kings 7:1 for his inspiration for today’s teaching about spiritual atmosphere. The story is about Benhadad’s seige of Samaria and how the Lord’s word, spoken through Elisha broke it.

I personally think this is one of the most significant preaches I have heard Pastor John give to date. I will make every effort to get it!

Today’s message is taken from the story of Naaman, commander of the army of the king of Syria and a leper. 2Ki 5:10 “And Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall come to you, and you shall be clean“. Now with such a nice easy remedy, who in the world wouldn’t do the thing? Well Naaman didn’t want to. He was looking for something more suited to his consequence. In fact he wanted to wash in a different river altogether!
Pastor John gets a strongly evangelical message out of this.

The background to this morning’s recording is that the Pastor had to buy a new washing machine but didn’t know that he had to remove the transit bolts before switching it on. None the less he got a great preach out of it! All very light hearted and great fun, however the more serious side of things was taken from Acts 1:8 “But ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you and ye shall witness unto me…….”. He dealt with the things that we believe and also his recent visit to Lakeland, Florida. There were many expressions of agreement and affirmation from the congregation . We were all pretty much of one mind on this one. It was great! A lovely sense of unity!

Well, no funny business this morning, no DVDs or anything like that. Just topnotch preaching from Pastor John. And guess what, it comes with a guarantee! It was more about “Shaking” so of course it was from Haggai 2:6-7 and the followup in Hebrews 12:26-27
Some snippets “tough times work character in you”, “Jesus Christ in me, the hope of salvation”, “And this word, “Yet once more,” signifies the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that have been made, so that the things which cannot be shaken may remain.”

This week we start off with Dave Lewis’ Communion message and then Pastor John exhorts us to “Put on the Garment of Praise for the spirit of heaviness” and he is not talking about gaining weight! We wind up with a very nice “Word” for Rory and then head off to pickernick at Dunure. Hey, the sun came out and we had a lovely time.
