The title is from Matthew 24:12 (KJV) of course. This morning the Pastor expounded on the love of God and called us to be doers of the word. This is the core, the essence and the proving ground of your Christianity isn’t it? What does it cost to love the unlovley, the unlovable? This is certainly not for WIMPs (Weak Individuals Mainly Pathetic) and no, it doesn’t sit very easily with self-regard or pride.

Hmmm…. there is a lot here but if you can get this bit then….

Loving God

or “How to make a heart connection with Jesus”. This morning was a “back to basics” message but there lies the nub of the thing, the heart of the matter, is it not?

The recording starts off with a little bit of the “free worship” at the end of the song service, just to put into context the Pastor’s opening prayer. Anyway, this still brings the witness of the Holy Spirit to me as I listen to it, so how could I take that out? I hope it does the same for you!

Rev 1:10-11 It was the Lord’s Day, and I was worshiping in the Spirit. Suddenly, I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet blast. It said, “Write in a book everything you see, and send it to the seven churches in the cities of Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea.”

This is episode one, The church at Ephesus. This eagerly awaited teaching has caused a lot of excitement in our church. Why not have a listen as Pastor John explains things in the context of the culture and the times?

Death to Self

This is pretty good, an anointed message and a recipe for lemon - garlic chicken! Five things the Pastor wants us to do. We are going through a troubled time of uncertainty and change for a season and this is the way for us to cope. Maybe you can draw some hope and inspiration from it too! I certainly hope so, God bless. (Let us know how you get on with the chicken?)

Fight the good fight!

Forgive me if this a somewhat uninspiring title. It doesn’t convey the sense of urgency of the exhortation to humble ourselves before God that the Pastor had for us this morning. Almost everyone who is anyone is in here, Paul, Timothy, Jehoshaphat and Isaiah. That’s some team! And what a powerful message. Now is the time for God to move.

Do You Fear God?
